Student Stewards Program:
Field Trips to Rosewood
Inspiring the next generation of enthusiastic scientists and environmental caretakers at our very own Nature Study Area!
Thank you for your interest in our Rosewood NSA educational programs! Trips to Rosewood include a tour of our Nature Center, 1-3 interactive activities facilitated by our educators, and an accessible guided nature tour though our wetland. We strive to have students learning outside as much as possible, and have ADA compliant spaces both inside and outside to be able to do so for all our field trips.

What makes rosewood special?
The Rosewood Nature Study Area (NSA) was once a golf course, and since 2019, the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation has been actively restoring the wetland to its natural environment.
Rosewood currently has 2.5 miles of accessible trails, outdoor classroom spaces, a fishing dock, and an interactive visitor center within its 219 acres.
The Nature Study area is a perfect natural classroom that students of all ages can access and see what amazing urban Nevadan wetlands have to offer.
Standard 2 Hour Program Overview:
20 minutes: Tour of Nature Center
1 hour: 1-3 interactive activities facilitated by TMPF educators
40 minutes: Guided tour on the wetland trails
Modifications can be made as requested!
We typically recommend a two hour field trip, but have options for one to four hours.
