In order to protect the best interests of our program participants, Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation has been working diligently to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. However, after much deliberation and consideration, the Parks Foundation has moved to cancel all programs and special events through the end of March 2020.
As new information is provided by the CDC, Health Department and the Board of Directors, the Parks Foundation will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our workplace and community. Please make sure to follow our social media pages and sign-up for our newsletter to receive real-time notifications and updates about our programs and events.
Listed below are additional precautions and program cancellations being implemented to help reduce the spread of the cold, flu and COVID-19.

Spring Break Science Camp:

Dementia Friendly Nature Walks:

In partnership with the Parks Foundation, The Sanford Center for Aging takes seriously the public health concerns about the COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) and the special risks it poses to elders, adults living with chronic diseases, and their caretakers. Because of this, the Dementia Friendly Nature Walks will be postponed until at least June 1, 2020. We will contact participants directly when the program is scheduled to resume.
Please be assured that our mission of serving elders will not change as we do everything we can during this challenging time to continue serving the community. We encourage everyone to take precautions for your own protection and safety as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Washoe County Health District.
To continuously support the health and well-being of our community, the Sanford Center for Aging will be readily available via social media (Facebook) and email at wellness.sca@gmail.com.
